Fishing is a calm alternative to combat farming: equip a Fishing Rod, bait up, and cast into any body of water. Each biome has its own bait, and the fish you catch depend on where you cast.

How to fish
- Buy or craft a Fishing Rod (Haldor sells one).
- Select the bait for the biome you are standing in.
- Cast near a fish, wait for the bobber to dip, and reel in with left-click — time the pull.
- Cook the catch for food, or use rare fish in recipes.

- Where do I get a Fishing Rod in Valheim?
- The Fishing Rod is sold by the trader Haldor for coins. You also need bait — there is a base bait that works everywhere plus a biome-specific bait for each region.
- Does bait matter for which fish I catch?
- Yes. Each biome has its own bait, and using the matching bait is how you target that biome's fish. The base bait works in any water but is less specific.
