Moulds & Casts in Valheim

Moulds & Casts is the system Valheim uses to make end-game gear: a mould plus the right metal, cast at a Foundry or Artisan Station, produces the finished item.

Moulds are found or earned items that let you cast finished gear at a casting station (the Foundry for metal, the Artisan Station for refined pieces). Instead of crafting an item directly, you bring the mould plus the required metal to the station and it produces the gear. This is how most end-game armor and weapon sets are made.

Verified (1.0): this page lists all 30 mould items in our structured data, grouped by the kind of gear they cast. The “Casts” column is parsed from each mould’s verified description.

How moulds work

  • Find the mould, then cast. A mould is reusable — once you have it, you can cast its item as many times as you have the materials.
  • Station matters. Metal moulds cast at the Foundry; check workstations for which station each tier needs.
  • Sets vs singles. Armor moulds come as chest / helmet / legs, so a full set needs all three.
